Vasavi College of Engineering has organized a Cisco Cyber OPS National level workshop from June 7th to 14, 2019. This boot camp was organized in association with CISCO India as part of the NetAcad Instructor/Faculty development program. The participants are Netacad Instructors of Cisco academies of prestigious Institutions across the country. The Cisco Academies from is part of Academic support centers such as

  1. Amritha University
  2. Nettur Technical Training Foundation
  3. TASK- (Telangana Academy for skill and Knowledge)
  4. Trident ICT
  5. Amity University

Have taken part in the boot camp held at Vasavi College of Engineering. Instructors from all parts of India ranging from Guna in the North to Dehradun in the East to Karnataka, Chennai, Andhra, and Telangana in the South. A total of fifty-four instructors have participated in this boot camp.

In today’s world, the Organizations must be able to detect security breaches and to respond to these threats. The boot camp has been planned to keep in view these challenges and to equip the organizations with the necessary skills to face these. To address the above, five tech-savvy personnel from CISCO training centers at Trident in Orissa, Amity in Punjab, Kolkata, and Bangladesh imparted fabulous training.

The main aim of the CCNA Cyber Security Operations boot camp is to impart the necessary knowledge and skills required by a security analyst who is part of the security operations team of an organization. The boot camp imparted core security skills needed for monitoring, detecting, investigating, creating awareness about reconnaissance and penetrating tools, analyzing and responding to security issues thus protecting systems and organizations from cybersecurity risks, threats, and vulnerabilities.

The instructors who got trained will be training students in their respective colleges, to build the students skills in cyber security and shape them as a cyber security analyst. The skill imparted to NetaAcad instructors would delegate a major transition to students expertise ushering in a robust environment to organizations.

The inaugural ceremony of the National workshop on “CISCO cyber-OPS” commenced with the lighting of lamp by a group of dignitaries of Vasavi College of Engineering and Cisco India. The program was followed by Saraswati-Vandana.

Prof. S. V. Ramana(Prinicpal, Vasavi College of Engineering) wished for the success of the workshop and inspired the participants for academically rewarding stay in Vasavi College of Engineering.

The chief guest of the workshop Mr Manjunath Chandrashekar(Program Manager, Cisco India) had stressed the importance of the course and motivated everyone to actively participate in the workshop to get benefited.

In his report on workshop, Dr K. Ram Mohan Rao(Head, Department of Information Technology, Vasavi College of Engineering) briefed about the schedule and topics to be covered during the workshop.

Speaking on the ocassion, Prof. E. Sreenivasa Rao(Head, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering) briefed about the importance of Cyber Security and its relevance.

In the end, Mr Jithender Reddy(Co-Convenor of the workshop) offered a vote of thanks to all including resource persons of the workshop(Mr Shubajith, Mr Satya Ranjan Biswal, Dr Nitin Panday, Mr Shubendu & Md Islam). He thanked all the guests and participants from length and breadth of the country for gracing the occasion for their solemn presence. He also thanked Management(Vasavi Academy of Education) for providing all kind of facilities to conduct cyber security workshop in the College.

The Valedictory session was held on June 14th, 2019. The Principal of the college Dr S. V. Ramana presided over the function, Dr Raghavendra, Scientist, SG, ADRIN-ISRO was the chief guest of the occasion.

An eminent personality and Technical Manager-Cisco India, Mr B. S. Ananth, addressed the gathering and stressed the importance of security. Mr Manjunath Chandrashekar, Project manager, Cisco India, was guest of Honor for the occasion, while addressing the gathering he congratulated the participants on completing the course with distinction. The function was also graced by Brigadier Sriramulu, Director-TASK and Mr Ravi Paritala,HR Manager-TASK.

The Principal of the college Dr S. V. Ramana thanked Cisco-India for giving an opportunity to host the event, he had congratulated participants on completing the course with distinction and also thanked the organizing team.

The Convenor and IT-HOD Dr K. Ram Mohan Rao briefed the report on the boot camp and eventually Mr M Jithender Redddy, Co-convenor of the cyber security boot camp offered vote of thanks.
