It is one of the oldest departments established in the year 1981. It has two laboratories, developed with an investment of Rs. 8.5 lakhs. The faculty is well qualified and experienced with Ph.D. The total carpet area occupied by the department is about 255.22 sq.mts.

Laboratories
There are two laboratories, namely mechanics and optics lab, to meet the requirements of the syllabus prescribed by Osmania University. Care is taken for the regular maintenance of each laboratory through a lab in-charge, assisted by a laboratory assistant and two lab attenders.
